INSTALLATION SMIRNOFF EXPERIENCE NERO & RUSKO

Vita Motus was contracted by VICE Media to design and project manage the installation of the Cloud 2.0, a 4-D projection mapping and lighting experience for the Smirnoff Experience in Bangalore, India. The production was a collaboration between Vita Motus, VICE Media, Greenstone, and OranJuice.

For the sake of efficiency, Vita Motus sought out a locally sourced building block that would not require much custom fabrication in India. The Cloud is built from Layher Scaffolding and was designed and engineered to have two giant cantilevers to the left and right of the DJ. The structure’s final dimensions spanned 100’ wide by 50’ tall and 32’ deep at the central base, making this one of the largest projection mapped DJ booths in the world.

Multiple layers of scrim material were used to create baffles for unique and exciting SFX and lighting elements. It was key for us to have lighting and video work together as one unit to make a seamless integration of projection and lighting effects. The structure functioned as a cloud with hazers and CO2 during the day and came alive after dark with media to house Rusko and Nero, the dubstep headliners.
