TOURING STAGE INFECTED MUSHROOM ARMY OF MUSHROOMS
In 2012, Infected Mushroom enlisted Vita Motus to design, produce, and fabricate the Army of Mushrooms touring stage. The stage’s architectural intent was a futuristic sculpture that visually reflected the forward thinking and innovative roots of the band. The exploded pieces that made up the sphere appeared to be floating weightlessly, a reflection of the psychedelic, untethered-style of the band.
These sculptures functioned as individual performance pods in a variation of shapes and sizes to accommodate the artists and their activity within. The set was technically designed and engineered for non-traditional projection mapping, and its forced perspective intended to accentuate 3D forms. The audience is immersed in the colorful and energetic world of Infected Mushroom as animations infuse the architecture with a constant state of motion, pulsating with the rhythm of the music.
