FESTIVAL STAGE LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE THE TRIAD
Envisioned for Lightning in a Bottle, the Triad Structure balances both a modern sensibility felt in the bright color spectrum, with architecture inspired by and modeled after ancient tribal structures.
The inspiration for using a pyramid shape was based on our fascination with ancient sacred structures; the triangular layout draws energy into the center of the space and allows for optimum viewing at every angle. The structure is composed of large wooden blocks, A-frame braces, and flowing fabric. We placed a color spectrum into the design so it could double as an dynamic backdrop for performance.
This composition has been intentionally laid out in a triangle of pyramids to form and contain energy in the center. In this design, fabrics are woven into the architecture and unfold off of the ends of each pyramid to create colorful coves for gathering in the shade.
This Stage was designed to be bright and innovative. The pyramid shape was inspired by ancient tribal structures, and laid out in a triangle to create energy in the center for optimum viewing. This structure is made out of large wooden blocks, A-frame braces and flowing fabric. The color spectrum in the fabric was implemented to give the design a modern feel. The backstage was cleverly designed into the structure in that the fabric backdrop for the performers doubles as the backstage shade structure and boundaries.
